Conservation isn’t an all-or-none proposition. Becoming a better steward of the ocean is a process – like losing weight, exercising more, or any other decision to change how we lead our lives.
Ultimately success lies not in the decision, but in the dedication.
The process ebbs and flows. Any distance runner can tell you that we can’t always focus on the precision of every step – sometimes you trundle along until finally you once again find the magic of stride.
As an ocean steward, allow yourself the grace to trundle sometimes and then again dedicate yourself to that long-term behavioral goal of stewardship.
Remember that doing better for the ocean feels good.
